Where to go after Google+

Originally shared by Jessica Meyer Where to go after Google+ After trying out #Minds and #MeWe for about a week I'm definitely enjoying #Minds more. I can already read my feed there to receive the most important news about what's going on in #science and #technology. It's still not as complete as here, but there's lots of good stuff, with the plus side that there's less junk posts as well. I guess people just have to know who to follow ;) MeWe is more like Facebook, you need to follow each other to see the posts, there's still no public posting, not even inside the platform (although they say it's coming). I've already received spam "friendship" request at MeWe and I also don't enjoy that they officially use faul words in their description and emails. At least at the moment Minds is much better and more interesting in my opinion. I'm trying to be active there daily, so check me out: www.minds.com/JessicaMeyer I'm finding it a great...

I am using Minds because it gives an experience very much like Google+.

I am using Minds because it gives an experience very much like Google+. Here's information on the use of hashtags in Minds. Minds does not require you use your real name when creating an account. My first name is Culture and my second name is Kat. Then I only needed to provide an email. I can share my posts with Twitter and Facebook. From jack Minds (Help & Support) OCT 18, 2018, 1:37:20 PM Please read this blog for some information on the new updates to Minds. The new hashtag system will make it much easier to discover content based on your interests, and it will allow you to filter your "top" feeds by hashtags. This will be a major improvement for helping to organize content, groups and channels and we plan on leveraging these tags in the future for better Boost targeting and more. The new rate limit system is a direct response to the many complaints we have received about spam channels who are abusing the site's features for personal gain. This is just the f...

[COLLECTIONS to HASHTAGS?]

[COLLECTIONS to HASHTAGS?] I've been trying to find an equivalent of G+ Collections . None of the other platforms have anything like it exactly (though I've suggested an equivalent on the Diaspora development forums as a "Digest" feature). It maybe that my answer is not the same functionality, but careful use of hashtags. For example, if everything I post has a #LauraEss tag, regardless of where it's posted, I should be able to find all my posts by searching for that tag. Likewise if I'm posting to a particular topic, perhaps I can use a "personal prefix" (or suffix to the tag. For example, if my prefix is #LAS (the "A" in the middle of LAS stands for my middle name) then perhaps the topics of Technology, Opensimulator and Random would then be #LASTechnology, #LASOpensimulator and #LASRandom, or maybe #TechnologyLAS, #OpensimulatorLAS and #RandomLAS. I'm not sure whether a prefix or suffix is better or easier to use. There might b...
