Original Introduction to the G+ Migration Community:

This community is here to help people, organizations, formal and informal groups and communities plan and execute migrations to new online homes.

Google+ [shut] down in April of 2019 (NOT August, as originally announced). We [had] time to prepare, but need[ed] to consider goals, capabilities, and where others in our communities [would] go.

There are many opportunities, from obvious Big Names to a wild universe of commercial, noncommercial, and even self-served possibilities. This is the biggest shake-up to the online social landscape in a decade and presents an opportunity.

This community cannot speak for or direct your group, but we hope to provide useful resources and guidance.
There are numerous further informational resources, including places to report your contacts, other G+ exodus / migration communities on and off G+, and informational sources, linked here.

Policies:

Please classify your posts appropriately. There is a set of categories for organising content, use them.

Keep the discussion productive. We're looking at practical considerations, social and technical, in the migration. Personal and political disputes can be carried out elsewhere.
Flag spam and abuse. That's much more productive than engaging and making the problem worse. Message the moderators directly if there's a bigger problem.

Tell us what you'd like to see. Categories, links, or other resources. We'll add what we can here or to other resources.

Thanks, mods.
