My Haskell-related Google+ community, entitled "Haskell: The Haskell-Beginners Community," has been migrated to PASHpost (see https://pashpost.com/group/haskell-the-haskell-beginners-community ). Although most of the posts in the largest category, "Discussion," are still being migrated, most of the posts that were relevant and did not have missing links in the other categories have successfully been manually transferred. https://pashpost.com/group/haskell-the-haskell-beginners-community

Apparently, PASHpost has recently launched PASHGroups as "a destination for those communities displaced by the imminent shutdown of Google+." According to the article, "Los Angeles, CA - February 26, 2019 - PASHpost, the first full-service digital-media company serving enthusiast communities, announced today the launch of PASHGroups, a destination for those communities displaced by the imminent shutdown of Google+. PASHpost.com serves vast networks of enthusiast communities by taking the best of platforms such as Craigslist, Google+, Reddit, and YouTube and unifying them in a single network, while also providing those communities with the tools they need to explore, discover, and share their interests. "On April 2, 2019, the Google+ consumer platform will officially close affecting millions of Google+ members who at that time will lose all previously published content as well as the ability to create new Google+ pages, profiles, events and communities. Unfortunately, I just mistakenly deleted the banner for the April 2, 2019 closing of Google+. Does anyone know any way of restoring this banner? I tend to be extremely absent-minded in general, and am afraid that I might mistake the date for some other date and forget to back up my data. Generally speaking, I have far more important matters to attend to than wasting my time in figuring out how to restore a banner that shouldn't be removable in the first place.

This blog entry is a comparative review of MeWe vs. pluspora.

This blog entry is a comparative review of MeWe vs. pluspora. Apparently, both social network services have their pros and cons, and currently, neither is a complete substitute for Google+. In a nutshell, according to the review: * MeWe essentially is more polished, but superficially has the look and feel of Facebook, and its population includes many right-wing conservatives and libertarians who might have been booted off either Twitter or Facebook. Also, there are no public posts--all posts must go to specific followers or groups. * Pluspora feels like Google+, but is less polished, feels like a 2/3 production release, and doesn't allow either editing of posts/comments or likes on comments. However, it supports cross-posting to both Twitter and WordPress. Hashtags are critical for posts to be found, but cannot be added to posts after the posts have been written because completed posts cannot be edited. http://hill-kleerup.org/blog/2018/10/10/where-to-go-after-google-plus.html
