For me the best way to take out my data from Google+ has been to use my Samsung phone's (Note 8) ability to do "scroll capture" screenshot. Quite simply this means that I can take one screenshot of a complete thread - even if it's very long. Samsung's "Gallery"-app is required to view the screenshot properly - but that's fine with me. Since this method is working so well for me, I just thought I would pass it on here. I hope everyone find a tolerable way to leave Google+.

Rather than exporting around 1230 posts and around 30.000 comments from my most popular collection I have decided to transform the best material from the collection into blog posts on a new blog. Here's an example. Hopefully, the blog will evolve into a new place to hang out and discuss for the community I have been building through five years of running my collection. https://www.socratesandthestoics.com/2018/12/a-few-quick-notes-on-committing.html

How to set up a Mewe group to mimick a Google+ collection.

How to set up a Mewe group to mimick a Google+ collection. - Create a new group - Under "Group settings" - "Group permissions" - "How members join" - "New member permissions" define new members as "Viewers". This will allow them to comment, to chat and to invite new members - but not to post. - Since you yourself created the group, you will be admin and be able to create new posts, to delete people's comments etc. - Under "How members join" - "How can members join" remember to tick off "Include this group in the MeWe directory". - Under "Group settings" you now have an option called "Group category". Remember to put your group in a good category so everyone can find it easily. #mewetip

A question which frequently comes up over at MeWe is whether it's possible on the app to see a feed of all new posts in all the groups we're following. The answer is actually yes - but it's done a little differently from what you think: 1. Go to the groups tab in the app and open any group from the top section called "Group alerts". This will show you only the new posts in that particular group. Read what you want to read of the new posts from that group. 2. Now scroll left. See? You're now in the next group with new posts. #tip
