I'm building a presence on Minds at https://www.minds.com/CultureKat as my Google+ alternative site...still hoping Google+ doesn't sunset. Below is an example of how you can select and add custom hashtags to personalize your Minds newsfeed (like Home in Google+) so you see just what you want to see. Personalize your Minds Newsfeed by selecting hashtags of interests you'd like to see. Write whatever hashtag you'd like to use and see in the blank box and then click on the tiny arrow to add it to the list. Google+ sunsets in August 2019. Many Google+ers have gone to MeWe. You might be considering it too. Here's a MeWe sample account page. MeWe charges monthly for storage over 8GB. MeWe reminds me of Facebook. It has a feature that allows you to create private groups.
