Alternatives to Google services

Google Alternatives Thanks to a Facebook post by  Lee Grupsmith-Pedersen , we have been alerted to  this article, by Brendan Hesse ,   which appears on lifehacker.com  as  The Best Competitors to Every First-Party Google App and Service Because of new EU anti-trust laws, Google is legally obligated to show its users apps and browsers from its competitors. But here in the US,  there are no such rules , and Google doesn’t have to fill you in on similar products that may be available from other companies. Don’t worry, though—we went ahead and found that information ourselves. ... Build your own GSuite add-ons

Suggestion for Talented Programmer: Could someone please build and make available a free GSuite add-on that would allow communication among GSuite members, and the general public  if Google doesn't add this to "Currents" (still in beta as of this post) for all platforms, mobile & desktop ? (I don't know what I'm talking about, if this could be integrated with GSuite, etc., but hope you do.) Even if you are unable to fulfill this lofty mission, you may have other fun with this:

Keeping up with Currents (still beta)

Stephen Adu Agyei People Left Behind on G+ Good news :)     Mark Barrus - GSuite +2 Thanks for the update + Stephen Adu Agyei 3d Eli Fennell +3 Woohoo, + Nina Trankova ! But what about Public Posting and Following? 3d Cade Roux Owner Not every company will have GSuite. If a company collaborates extensively with other companies, it seems like this would disqualify this tool. At least with Drive/Docs/Groups you can add people to have access to a folder by email address. Yes, it has to be a Google account, but does not have to be in a GSuite org. 3d Eli Fennell +1 + Cade Roux You're assuming they'll never expand its capabilities. I'd be surprised if they didn't. As you say, they do it with other products, but those other products didn't do it at first, either. Currents is new. So new it doesn't even exist yet. The absence of a thing on Day 1 doesn't mean it will never be part of it. 3d

Memory Lane: the Google+ Early Access Community

Early Access FAQ The Early Access program on Google+ allowed selected Google+ users to converse directly with Google+ staff. As a member of EA, this author appreciated the dialogs. The substance of the conversations in EA was private. You can imagine, however, that the problems you had as a G+ user were brought before the EA Community in proportion to the frequency they were experienced by the general public. EA participants had the ear of Google+ support staff, but not the Google or Alphabet administrators who made the decision to discontinue public Google+. The Early Access Community and its Google+ staff were as surprised as the general public to learn that public Google+ would be shut down. Yellow Rose by Kate Sadler, courtesy Earl J.
