DON'T PANIC Please keep in mind that you can live your life without G+ or a G+ alternative. You may not like it, (I know I don't), but you can. Download your data. You can continue to look for a G+ alternative long after G+ closes their doors.

I got my username choice email today for Openbook. I doubt its still available, but I am going for @ Matt. (no space). Otherwise I will be @ MattMoore. It does appear that Openbook will be a bit like the old G+, circles and all and Alpha access looks like it will happen sometime in the next month (They say March in the Indiegogo, but yesterdays update says differently), so enough time to evaluate even before Google's early departure. UPDATE: MINDS HAS SHOWN THEY DON'T WANT US. SO NEVER MINDS! I think I found my place with Minds.com. Its a place made for monetizing your readers, but you don't have to do that. Its got a bit of the early G+ feel, without the circles sadly.
