I'm going to hear this from all my G+ friends who tried to warn me: "I TOLD YOU SO". I joined MeWe in December after hearing the news of G+ shutting down. I joined MeWe despite warnings about all the extremists and societal rejects of all sorts. I thought, the space is surely big enough to accommodate moderate mainstream liberal politics, right? WRONG. While MeWe claims they don't shadow ban, it's a big fat lie. Our humble little liberal politics group, is very active and growing, as were a number of other liberal and progressive politics groups. I just did a search for our group and it no longer is searchable. Up until a couple of weeks ago it was searchable. I searched for other liberal groups and there are only a couple still remaining out of gajillions of extremist political groups. It turns out that all one has to do is report a group for whatever made up reason and MeWe automatically removes your group from being searchable, thus starving the group from grow...

So far, I really like the ability of MeWe to create groups and interact in a format most closely resembling Google Communities. They are easy to set up and moderate. Plenty of fun emojis and live group chatting within the group. The downside: It's difficult to find new people without a known address or link. You really need to start with Groups to find anyone. The other noticeable problem is the sheer number of extremist groups and other anti-intellectuals such as anti-vaxxers. It could use an insurgence of intelligence from the G+ community. I created a Group for progressive politics and it seems to be workable. I like Pluspora but it relies heavily on hashtags to find content. I'm simply not a fan of hashtags. You create "groups" of your contacts using My Aspects. But it could use an option to create groups or communities. In addition, I can't seem to find an Edit function to edit posts. I've got a lot to learn.
