WOW

WOW Archiving G+ comments of Blogger Via Filip H.F. Slagter Originally shared by Filip H.F. “FiXato” Slagter Big PlexodusTools update for Blogger owners who had GooglePlus Comments widget enabled for their blog: My #PlexodusTools git repository at https://github.com/FiXato/Plexodus-Tools has had some big updates in the past week, specifically the https://github.com/FiXato/Plexodus-Tools/blob/master/README.md#google-comments-on-blogger-blogs-exporter section. The `bin/export_blogger_comments.sh` Bash script can be used to archive all #GPlus Comments for your #Blogger blog. It's basically a wrapper script around all the other scripts, and a way to collect all the retrieved data into a single JSON file. Note, most of these tools can also be used if you use Google+ Comments for Websites. Today's freshly committed code will not only request relevant JSON from the APIs, it will also combine it all into single structured JSON file per domain. Hurry up though, as the Bash scripts rel...

You have only till February 4th to archive all the comments on your Blogger blogs As mentioned on https://support.google.com/plus/answer/9195133 you have only two to three days left before Blogger blogs no longer include the Google+ Comments on each post: "If you’ve used Google+ for comments on your own or other sites, this feature will be removed from Blogger by February 4th and other sites by March 7th. All your Google+ comments on all sites will be deleted starting April 2, 2019." See the below reshared post for more details. How the shutdown of Google+ affects Google+ Comments for Blogger

How the shutdown of Google+ affects Google+ Comments for Blogger While my post here on Google+ is mostly ranting at/about Blogger for not providing a migration path, and being so late with informing its users, the linked article is Blogger's announcement post going into details on how Blogger will be affected by the #GooglePlusShutdown. In short, any comments posted to Blogger blogs using the Google+ Comments system rather than Blogger's original own Comments system, will be lost. +1 and share buttons and related Google+ web integration will also disappear from Blogger. No migration path is provided. How About Blogger - I'm hoping that Goggle keeps Blogger because its the only thing that close to my website that I used to have which later had to close because of budget thing. http://keremgogus.blogspot.com/ Will demise of G+ affect image uploads to Blogger? They were sharing same spot when I looked at my image archive - I hope I'm wrong though. I'm posting and keep "diary" of my work and my progress over years on my work since 2009 and having Blogger on really a big thing to me. I used to trust Google but no one can know when they sunset any of their product. #FarewellG+ #Blogger http://keremgogus.blogspot.com/

Using Blogger as a G+ Collections substitute Before I became aware of Google+ Collections, I started [...

Using Blogger as a G+ Collections substitute Before I became aware of Google+ Collections, I started [ http://bit.ly/EarlJArnoldAdvertisingCardCollections ] There, I scanned pages from my great-grandmothers scrapbook posting in reverse order from the last page so that when they appeared in chronological order by date of creation, they would be in the correct page number order. I then created an index, which is updated frequently. After the pages and their index were complete, I proclaimed I had made a "book" in blog format. This was a labor-intensive approach to making a Collection on Blogger. I share it here as an example of a technique that you can improve on, if you haven't already. For instance, I've never heard from anyone who went post by post or page by page in order through my Blogger "book." (Poor soul would probably get sidetracked somewhere in there and lose their way.) When I discovered G+ Collections, I thought it had advantages over Blogger ...
