Hey, Official Atmos developer here.

Hey, Official Atmos developer here. I'm the Frontend Designer along with doing occasional backend work. I'm willing to do a Q&A for those interested in Project Atmos for the next three hours. We are set to launch on April 15th, 2019, and are currently at 1,500 members within our discord. We have the backing of some fairly large community members. Namely Mother Bean, Quote, and Bees Knees. Please ask any question you have below!

About AMAs

About AMAs Some of you may have noticed that we've not done AMAs ("Ask me Anything" interviews) for a few weeks. I'd been meaning to discuss why. Short answer: they're a lot of work and I wasn't seeing a whole lot of upside out of it, for the guest, for the Community, and for myself. But I wanted to check with others on that. So, questions: 1. Are you interested in AMAs with various platform and site options? 2. Was the existing format working for you? 3. What might make for better outreach and publicity? 4. What alternative formats (say: pre-submitted questions) would be better? The original idea had emerged from "hey, we're a sizeable bunch", might make a useful audience. Delivery seemed to fall short of that. In particular, trying to engage between sites and G+ Communities seems to be quite difficult.

I need to figure the way to get the largest audience we can for this and need everyone’s help doing it.

I need to figure the way to get the largest audience we can for this and need everyone’s help doing it. Originally shared by K.B. I’ve been promoting the OpenBook project here a lot as a probable new home for those of us here on Google+ http://openbook.social I have been talking to with Joel Hernández, the founder of OpenBook and he had agreed to do an AMA here on Google+ to answer our questions and provide some insights into OpenBook and how it could be our new home. Here’s what I need: a number of us have started communities to address the exodus and I’d like to have people suggest one to host this or how we can best set it up. I want to do this quickly so PLEASE respond, mention folks that might be able to help or make suggestions because I want this to be available easily to all of us and soon. Please send people my way and help me get this going Feel free to comment or message me directly but as I sai...

In this interview (which I haven't finished reading yet), it is said that comments on Instagram can be deleted by AI without the commentor being informed. The comment still appears on the commentor's phone, it just doesn't get distributed. Based on highly variable feedback on my Facebook posts, I've often thought this has been happening to me on Facebook. It's not that my posts are attacking anyone, it's just their distribution model favors posts likely to get "happy" interactions. My sense is it was formerly biased towards political engagement, but since that got them into hot water, they've tweaked it. I've noticed their advertising has improved, but that's probably the result of better tracking. When I say improved, what I mean is they're showing me more ads I'm likely to click on. Oh - and I think my Instagram tracking history has been used for Facebook ads. https://www.wired.com/story/jack-dorsey-twitters-role-free-speech-filte...

Dear Google+: We're inviting you to comment to the G+MM community on what if any plans, commitments, capabilities,...

Dear Google+ : We're inviting you to comment to the G+MM community on what if any plans, commitments, capabilities, migration support, etc., Google are planning. My view has been that if Google don't provide some clarification within the first month of the announced shutdown, there's likely to be little if any support. There are three days left in that first month. The Google+ profile has not posted in three weeks, and its recent posts are locked against comments. I've reached out previously to Google directly through its press contact, with follow-up requests, specifically for Ben Smith, VP Engineering, or someone within his group to speak to G+MM. That request stands and is renewed here. As one of the moderators of this 3,000+ member community (all joined since 8 October 2018), we're very much hoping to hear from you, and soon. Normally our format is an Ask me Anything, but at the very least, and even if you don't have solid plans or schedules, we'd ...

AMA interest: SmugMug & Flickr

AMA interest: SmugMug & Flickr I'm getting a request from SmugMug/Flickr to have their CEO give an AMA. This is likely of most interest to photography-oriented communities (and photographers). Some help spreading word to them about this would be appreciated.
