PASHpost review

PASHpost review Originally shared by Jay Exonauts I've been looking into PASHPost, which is a social media site specifically geared toward "enthusiasts". Signing up/Logging In You can sign in with your Google account without having to create a new one. That's a REEEEEEALY convenient feature to have, right off the bat. When you create an account, you pick at least 3 interests (not hard for me, I've got a lot!). One of them is "Board Games and RPGs". That's HUGE because most sites just throw everything under "games" (which is a separate interest, mainly video games on PP). Features: Commenting, Liking Posts, etc. And the features line up with Google+ nicely. From what I can tell, it functions the same as G+. You can post comments and "like" the comments of others. You can also edit and delete comments and write comments with minimal coding (using asterisks makes italics, etc.). Not sure if you can create categories ...

So the OpenBook alpha launched today.

So the OpenBook alpha launched today. It's a mobile app only at the moment with the website version available when it launches properly hopefully. The app shows promise, but a little buggy so far. Certainly the Android version anyway, which annoyingly exits the app if you hit your phone's back button. Hey it's still an alpha version after all. There seem to be a bunch of friendly folks onboard already. I created a community over there for Plus refugees, so I could see how communities work over there. /c/plusrefugees I'm @MichaelW over there. Come say hello if you're on OpenBook already!

https://medium.com/openbook-org/the-time-has-come-17965aa9a0d6 I got not much use for G+ over the years, and I'm not in the need for an alternative. I'm mostly looking down at the "alternatives", but #Openbook got me curious. I think it deserves more mentions and I hope to see some experience feedback here. https://medium.com/openbook-org/the-time-has-come-17965aa9a0d6

Tipua (ancient New Zealand words - "unexpected" "spirit")

Tipua (ancient New Zealand words - "unexpected" "spirit") https://www.tipua.com This week the Australian photographer Chris Sutton launched a new social media site: Tipua. Not only does this site promise to be good for photography and art, or just staying in touch - Chris has also written about making the site a cooperative - a radical departure at a time when corporate greed and advertisers are stifling creativity and initiative. Chris has also said that, while photography will be a significant element of the site, there are no restrictions on joining. He has said that the key requirement for anyone joining the site is that members are civil to and respectful of each other. Having explored the alternatives, examined the arguments put forward in the forum (for which i give thanks), and having written extensively on the anti-trust aspects of the existing market and the emerging contenders for the Australian Risk Policy Institute (which is lobbying government on an...
