Hey all Blogger users Great News!

Hey all Blogger users Great News!!! I figured out a way to hack the classic theme to add microformats so you can play with all the #IndieWeb goodness. I will record a tutorial tonight or tomorrow Time to return to the web as our social network: https://drmacsspot.blogspot.com/ https://drmacsspot.blogspot.com/

Look at these spikes in https://Brid.gy traffic. Glad to see so many thinking about their website as their Google+ replacement Originally shared by Greg Mcverry Wow look at the huge jumps in traffic to brid.gy https://snarfed.org/2018-11-05_bridgy-traffic-bump Seems to correlate with the Google+ announcement. Glad to see so many folks realizing every day that your website can also be your social network. Blogger, WordPrews.com, Medium....you don't need to know code to IndieWeb. We have solutions for you. https://snarfed.org/2018-11-05_bridgy-traffic-bump

Everyone I am doing another Virtual MeetUp if anyone has questions about basic blogging, feed readers, or anything IndieWeb related. Look how I set up my classes: http://edu307class.networkedlearningcollaborative.com/feeds.html A few tags and you can easily build a group function. Of course RSS doesn't do it for real time chat with polling, but microsub is fast, and most modern readers support this spec. But maybe going a little bit slower ain't too bad. http://edu307class.networkedlearningcollaborative.com/feeds.html

Here is the slidedeck I will use in the first 10-15 minutes of the virtual IndieWeb MeetUp I am organizing: I will do an HoA that anyone can join and we can comment across different G+ channels and Twiiter. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Oou1hCsibpa5JnBeMaUtoVLT3MmA9d0ixH38ETcHNOw/edit?usp=sharing Hard to follow along but I always say if you can read my slides I did a poor job of designing them (or course I have to write up transcript later for accessibility with this approach but slide deck dies with first bullet point. After that we will just hand and talk about our Google+ exit plans.

Hello everyone

Hello everyone I just visited Google TakeOut and selected all my g+ content for Download. Circles come as vcards Posts, +1, and comments come at HTML. I will try to import to my website and write a tutorial if it works.. All boils down to how messy is html and what kind of metadata is or isn't injected

Hello everyone given the interest and pings I have gotten since posting a few minutes ago I am going to run two virtual IndieWeb meet ups tomorrow and Wednesday 8:30 EDT. We will discuss, updating your blogs, starting your own website, and being your own social network. We can brainstorm new places to hang as well. I will demo the IndieWeb tools I use to blog like it's 1999. Just leave a comment below for invite but will use Hangouts on Air.
