So I tried Google Takeout and asked for my Google+ Stream specifically including just "Posts" of the various items available to export (no photos). Let me tell you I was shocked when it said there is over 22GB to export, and that's compressed! Sure I was active on G+ since the very beginning, probably made a few thousand posts in that time. But NFW would it amount to 22GB. Just what the heck is in those files... Problem is even broken into 2GB it's going to take me an age to download at home on my slow network. I'm going to download one chunk when I get to work tomorrow but really - this is a huge barrier to exporting anything from G+. No one will bother downloading their data like this.

You'd think that Google would make it easy to export data and import into at least Blogger.

You'd think that Google would make it easy to export data and import into at least Blogger. I've made some great comments over the years but if I can just get my posts I'd be happy. Given the simple formatting supported by G+ you'd think it would be easy for them to do this. Bonus points for upload to Medium or any Markdown supporting platform. Maybe turn it into a Github Pages site?
