How to set up a Mewe group to mimick a Google+ collection.
- Create a new group
- Under "Group settings" - "Group permissions" - "How members join" - "New member permissions" define new members as "Viewers". This will allow them to comment, to chat and to invite new members - but not to post.
- Since you yourself created the group, you will be admin and be able to create new posts, to delete people's comments etc.
- Under "How members join" - "How can members join" remember to tick off "Include this group in the MeWe directory".
- Under "Group settings" you now have an option called "Group category". Remember to put your group in a good category so everyone can find it easily.

will this work with a lot of photo use like photography communities or music sharing communities or is this more for like just you know Forum kind of stuff and chit chat??
ReplyDeleteTrucker Kev The Paid Tourist Given the image compression and storage size limits, MeWe probably won't appeal to many photographer types -- my impression is that Flickr is still where most of the photo community goes to. Used to be a Yahoo property but has changed ownership quite a bit lately.
ReplyDeleteJust set up a MeWe account today and this info is greatly appreciated. Thank you. TNQ
ReplyDeleteJuha Lindfors Trucker Kev The Paid Tourist I am a photographer type and am liking MeWe. The compression is the same as on Google plus also the storage space amounts to about 12,000 photos before you have to delete some or buy more space. Some thing to think about.
ReplyDeleteCrow Eddy is that 12 picture count on your own personal or like if you bring a community over for picturesthey give you that much free storage space but the quality is just like when you go to a community and look at the feed pretty much?☺️
ReplyDeleteTrucker Kev The Paid Tourist it is 8 gigs or 12,000 approx. compressed pics, that you personally up load. If you upload to your home page then you can share that uploaded pic to other communities with no extra space used.
ReplyDeleteIt you look at the quality of my pics and my community posts you will see it is as good a quality as google plus. You can also enlarge photos to look at more detail.
Crow Eddy shall have look at that tomorrow Crow☺️

is this still the best way to replicate a collection? I am doing my google takeout now and trying to figure out how and what I want to import since most of my posts were collections should I set up a group for each of those collections, though not sure I can import into a group?
