Final SignalFlare, aka where to find me after GPlus is sacrificed to the LinkRot Monster
See https://contact.fixato.org for the most recent list of my social media profiles, as this is where I plan to keep it up to date

G Suite:
I have a gratis legacy #GSuite account through which I have 2 GPlus accounts:
Filip Slagter and FiXato Software Development
Whether I'll continue to have a GPlus presence through them, remains to be seen though. I will for the time being, continie to post #PlexodusTools updates regarding #DataMigration of #GoogleDataTakeout data there.

In short:
Mastodon: https://mastodon.social/@FiXato
Blogger: https://photoblog.fixato.org and https://blogspot.fixato.org
Diaspora*: https://joindiaspora.com/public/fixato
GitHub: https://github.com/FiXato
My Google+ Data Takeout export tools will continue to be developed at: https://github.com/FiXato/Plexodus-Tools
(If you want to support my efforts, my Amazon wishlist is available at: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2SLQZ468TH8CS)
Own website: https://fixato.org (though it's in serious need of an update)
YouMe.Social: https://www.youme.social/-FiXato
My primary social media profile will remain accessible via https://profile.fixato.org. As of tonight, this now points to my Mastodon profile.

Other Social Network Presences:
With Google+'s imminent shutdown¹ (April 2019), it's time to light a #SignalFlare ² and share links to other social networks I have some form of online presence at.

My primary online profile will always be available from: https://profile.fixato.org This currently links to my Google+ profile, but in the future will either link to an overview page, or probably to my #Mastodon account.

Mastodon:
#Mastodon ³ is an #ActivityPub-based #decentralized #shortform status updates network similar to Twitter, though with a more pleasant atmosphere and an increased status message length of 500 characters. Currently this is the place (apart from G+) where I'm the most active.

Diaspora*:
#Diaspora ⁴ is a #decentralised #longform status/blog updates network similar to Google+ with a wide variety of instances (called 'pods'). Years ago I picked the joindiaspora.com pod, and while I haven't really posted actively there, I still have an account there, which might see more activity after Google+'s demise.
It uses its own 'diaspora' protocol.

Friendica:
#Friendica ⁵ is a #longform social network that places itself in between the #Fediverse (Mastodon, GNU Social, pleroma, et al) and #Federation (Diaspora, Socialhome, et al), allows communication between both.
I recently created a profile there to test it out, but since most of my free time goes into developing #PlexodusTools ⁶, I haven't had time to use it more actively.
Its interface and feature set appeals to me though, especially since it allows for communication with both the Fediverse and the Federation.
I've picked the Libranet instance:

Profile page: https://libranet.de/profile/fixato

GitHub:
While #GitHub ⁷ is not really a social media network, but rather a #development publication platform based around the #git #VCS (Version-Control-System), it is a good place to keep up to date with the projects I'm involved in.
Username: FiXato
Profile page: https://github.com/FiXato

Steam:
#Steam ⁸ is an online game store which also offers limited social network aspects such as chat and leaving messages on one's wall. Not really active much atm, but if I know you well enough, feel free to send me a friend request.

Blogger/Blogspot:
#Blogger ⁹ (also known as #Blogspot in some territories) is Google's blogging platform.
I have 2 blogs on it, though neither have had activity for quite some time.
Photoblog: https://photoblog.fixato.org
Ramblings of a Coder: https://blogspot.fixato.org

Other profiles:
I'll try to keep my Google+ About Me page up to date with other profiles, though it also contains a lot of legacy profiles that I no longer keep updated:
https://plus.google.com/112064652966583500522 and click on "About" and scroll down to the Links section.
(Unfortunately there's no direct link to this About overview anymore)
Of course I'll also try to keep this SignalFlare post up to date, as it will be pinned to my profile, and will likely be reshared using the #SignalFlare hashtag on every first day of the month till GPlus shuts down.

  1. As I've said before, THIS is how you write a signalflare.

  2. Karl Hansen I've used a wide variety of similar services over the years, and they all ended up being useless or charging for the most basic features, so I kinda fail to see the point of yet another one :)

  3. And no, I'm not joining MeWe.
I just removed a comment that Google (imho rightfully) marked as spam, telling me to join it.
MeWe's whole promo campaign revolves around spamming people, pushing giant logo banners into people's faces, self-proclaiming itself as 'the new G+', and 'the best app' and having the 'best privacy', and it's sickening. I'm waiting for the first leak or security breach to happen already...
Its whole marketing revolves around talking crap about others, and Facebook in particular, rather than its actual features, and while I agree Facebook is a cesspit run by undesirables, I don't think that's the right basis to promote your activities on.

While most of the alternatives have no clear / promising business model either, at least they don't also have investors breathing down their neck; investors who will eventually force whoever thinks is in charge, to break promises and sell whatever they can to make a profit or cut their losses.

Finally, MeWe's userbase feels like a creepy cult, and those who feel like spamming it, especially in SignalFlares can imho FTFO.
