For the very little remaining time we have here I still have one question left to ask. Is it possible to migrate data between different fediverse platforms? For example Diaspora to/from Friendica or Friendica to/from Hubzilla, etc. In the past I went back and forth between Blogger and WordPress a lot.
I'm currently in testing phase of my Friendica installation and it just occurred to me what if I wanted to migrate to other platform in the future. Would be nice to be able to just port the data over instead of starting from zero again. Maybe it's already possible but I'm not aware of any tool for that or if any of the fediverse platforms have built-in support for data migration.

Well, most of them have some form of API, so a script to *re-*post your content should be possible, but that would be regarded as new content.
ReplyDeleteTo retain the original publication date, I don't think there really is a solution. IIRC Hubzilla and Osada are the ones that support Nomadic Identity, and thus should allow you to move your profile between instances of the same type (and possibly between Hubzilla and Osada too?), but that's about it.
