Google Plus is Closing Real Soon. MeWe and PASHPost are the Two Biggest Prospects
And PASHpost is way more promising than MeWe.
Edward Morbius shared a very cool review of PASHpost: https://plus.google.com/u/0/104092656004159577193/posts/WU8rdxtkREe
Thank you, Edward.
So why not? I decided to sign up and give it a try. And I'm glad I did. Long story short, PASHpost combines all the cool points we love about Google+. It's more than a simple replacement of Google Plus, it's a suped up version! Long story? They have:
- Groups - communities the member belongs to - similar to Google+
- Posts - 3-click text, photo & video uploads – similar to Instagram, Google+
- Marketplace - all items the member is selling - similar to Craigslist
- Discussion - featuring all discussion the member has contributed to - similar to Reddit
- Video - for sharing video content they produce - similar to YouTube
- Online Publishing – guided story-telling tool designed to create visually & editorially engaging articles - similar to Tumblr
Seriously, where was PASHpost this entire time?
They're trying to mix the best of every world. I get the feeling that while they do a lot of things, they aren't going to do everything well. Not a problem, but I bet they'll have to scale down somewhere. I also don't know how they are going to get the word out, but I'm sure they'll have a large round of funding in a short time.
Considering how Reddit, YouTube, and Instagram are trying to move into social network territory, I can say PASHpost is well ahead of the curve. The only problem, which is no fault of their own, is that PASHpost doesn't have a ton of members (as they weren't on the scene when Google Plus announced its closure). So it's a ghost town now, and maybe they've missed the opportunity of really promoting their site. Hopefully they can bounce back. Hopefully they can reach over 50 million registered users. Hopefully they can get an app going asap, as they are really late to this game...
Hopefully not too late.
But the best part about PASHpost is its consistent message. It's very clear on what it is and what it wants to be. It's a site built for enthusiasts. All of their features promote this concept. And since people are looking for the new Google Plus, they have an audience.
Take note, MeWe. This is how you do a social media site the right way. PASHpost knows who they are and what they want to be. They have a very clear focus with a lot of enthusiasm.
PASHpost isn't trying to be something it's not, i.e. a social crusading right-wing sjw underdog vs Facebook.
PASHpost isn't a friendly-family site that just happens to host porn.
PASHpost isn't trying to promote itself worldwide, while at the same time keeping up with a silly "Bill of Rights" (lol) and "free speech politics".
PASHpost isn't a walled garden, while complaining they are being censored.
PASHpost isn't trying to tear down the competition, while being a STRIPPED-DOWN, BARE-BONES version of it.
PASHpost doesn't say its against something, then ignore it as if it weren't a problem.
PASHpost doesn't have a toxic focus behind a friendly facade.
PASHpost doesn't court the Alt-Right and Minorities, expecting no drama to occur on the site.
PASHpost isn't hurting for all the members it can get, while at the same time keeping a very narrow focus of users interested in "free speech".
PASHpost isn't trying to sell you features other sites have for free.
...PASHpost does bring everyone together around an interest, without being pretentious about it.
Mark...are you listening, Mark?
Mark Weinstein is just another Mark (ala Zuckerburg), promoting another lame Facebook clone as a distraction.
MeWe/Mark Weinstein is that old guy just being spiteful in his own little corner about his more successful competitor.
PASHpost is that chill guy throwing a hobbyist party for friends.
Compared to PASHpost, MeWe is unbelievable.
MeWe simply can't be for real. MeWe is going away on April 1, right? It was all just a joke, right?
PASHpost, on the other hand, is the more attractive option. It's just too bad so many people got caught up with MeWe first, the false prophet (or shall I say, profit?) of social media. All hope isn't lost.
And spread the good word of PASHpost. Get that app ready, PASHpost. Get that app ready...

ReplyDeleteAnd its very clear this is hard sell advertising.
ReplyDeleteMidnightVisions you're right, but lots of reviews are. Not sure what you're getting at?
ReplyDeleteGary Gregory Your advertising it as an excited user when your really an employee for the company. Please learn the advertising rules advertisers have to follow.
ReplyDeleteThe problem I have with Pashpost is I have to select interests/topics to post something, or I don't.
ReplyDeleteBut I am not interested in most (or I could say none) of their existing topics.
MidnightVisions I don't work for PASHpost.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, let's have some fun with this. Sometimes I jump to conclusions on little evidence too.
I'm not just the president of PASHpost, I'm also a client. That's right, I am CEO, president, founding member, highest share holder, sole employee and not at all a "regular user" of PASHpost: Mr. Gregory, here to answer all your questions.
Do you have a concern you'd like to express? A complaint with my advertising style? Do you like MeWe? Are you also a (wo)man of culture?
Feel free to ask me anything you want about PASHpost, and I'll answer your questions to the best of my abilities.
Thank you, and remember: "Keep posting your passions!"
Addendum: After searching the official rules for advertising as a CEO, president, founding member, highest share holder, sole employee and not at all a "regular user", I have come to the conclusion that I have violated rule 3, section 5.2 of the advertisement code laid down by Iam P. Dantic, current president of the successful corporation Midnight Visions, Inc. for whom MidnightVisions works.
For that, I am truly sorry. Please support their business, and think of the children.
I checked it out, but I couldn't find any groups that I wanted to join in my chosen interests. On G+ I belong to several Atheist groups, but on PASHpost I'm not even sure what category this would be under. I do like the news feed and the look of the site. I will continue to check it out, hopefully more people will join and start some groups I'm interested in. I would really like to see an Android app too.
ReplyDeleteThe question is: can you import your G+ posts to Pashpost? If yes then I will join it. Today I joined MeWe just because it transferred my 4 thousands+ G+ posts properly and conveniently. It even automatically categorized my posts, spreading in different Collections, using tags taken from the names of my different Collections. Can Pashpost do this? I am just asking and I wish it can do this as well.
ReplyDeleteGreg Batmarx apparently you can, but I think you have to ask them. I don't know how to do it myself, nor if they'll walk you through it. By the way, what is your current MeWe cloud space after doing this? You're allotted 8GB before they start charging money, so did the migration whittle it down?
ReplyDeleteGary Gregory Fortunately my posts were primarily text based and they consumed just 300 megabytes. I wouldn't transfer my photos there if I had posted in G+ thousands of them 😉
ReplyDeleteIf that was the case, I would have made them a public Google Photos Collection and I would just have posted the public link. No way I will consume 8 giga with photos or videos. MeWe is mainly for posting texts and links if you want to truly use its free potential.
PASHpost seems to be more ambitious but I wonder how they gonna maintain and expand its infrastructure and cover its increasing expenses.
