G+ Notable Communities Database

G+ Notable Communities Database

We've just updated the #PlexodusWiki community directory page with known announcements and decisions for communities migrating from G+.

This is a self-serve resource, if you're a Community owner or mod, please do add your community to this directory.

We're aware the formats a bit crufty and all that, but if you can provide in the following information, we can edit it into shape:

* Community name and G+ URL.

* Short description (your G+ tagline should fit fine).

* Any announcement link, if possible.

* Links to the primary forum, blog, microblog, social media, and/or feeds (RSS/Atom) that you've established. (You'll likely not have all of these.)

(If you have other links you want to provide, please do, we're still working on the format here.)

Publicising things on G+ is difficult, please see that any Community you're an active member of which hasn't already been added to this list does doe so and sees it.

We're also compiling a general guide on migrating G+ communities here:

There are 57,000 communities with 1,000 or more members. And even a small fraction of those looking to move is a lot. Even smaller communities have a thriving culture. Let's keep a good thing going.

  2. I was planning to do something similar in the G+ Meetup group, but, for now, will share this post.

You are simply on top of things. Plus, having a greater data base to offer members seems like a good idea.

  3. al m There's value in having a data collection. And outward-focus attracts group interest.

    Where's the G+ Meetup group?

I often feel as if I'm underneath things.

  4. Edward Morbius Shared to the Google Plus Meetup on fb. Many of the members there have their own coms so hopefully they'll include themselves on the wiki.
