Google Takeout.html's version of this is to add a link to the bottom of the post. eg. https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=$LAT,%20$LONG" class="location" target="_blank" title="$LAT, $LONG">https://www.gstatic.com/images/icons/material/system/2x/place_grey600_24dp.png">$TEXTADDRESS
Way back in the day, I made a point of using the mobile web interface to G+ for posting. Because this was the easiest way to force it to add a location from the browser's "this location" info. G+ made it harder and harder to do this so somewhere around 2013 I stopped. There used to be a function "Nearby posts" but so few people added location data that it was effectively useless.
Go further back and the Buzz archive used to embed a small live Google Map into the bottom of the post.

another interesting use would be to add all your photos to a custom map layer, so you get a nice overview of where all your pictures were taken, or consider adding them to projects such as OpenStreetCam. Some more inspiration: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Photo_mapping
