My take on g+ alternative and related platforms. Comments invited. A few startup open source platforms not included, such as Social Home, Pleroma, etc. Also Reddit isn't included because it isn't stream/feed oriented.
I'm currently experimenting with WordPress custom user roles to emulate G+ circles. It's a shame that WordPress does not 'federate' with other WP instances though (I think it's possible to write a WP plugin for that but I haven't seen it being discussed before).
Warum fehlt Flickr ? Es ist für Foto & Kunst aller Art sehr geeignet... Man kann ein paar eigene ,,Kreise" bilden... Man kann bequem eigene ,,Sammlungen" [dort Album genannt] einrichten... Man kann ganz leicht ,,Community's" [dort Gruppe genannt] einrichten... Man kann einer Vielzahl bestehender ,,Community's" beitreten... Man kann innerhalb der Beiträge kommunizieren... Man hat zusätzlich noch eine in Flickr integriertere E-Mail Funktion... Man kann an von Flickr angebotenen Veranstaltungen teilnehmen... Und es ist in der Bildpräsentation fantastisch !!!
Andi Droid Had to translate.. I'm not familiar enough with flickr, but your description sounds like it is close to a general social network. However i didn't think it had a streaming/feed interface, does it?
Translation: Why is Flickr missing? It is very suitable for photo & art of all kinds ... You can form your own "circles" ... You can comfortably set up your own "collections" [called album there] ... It's easy to set up "community's" ... You can join a variety of existing "Communities" ... You can communicate within the posts ... You also have a more integrated in Flickr e-mail function ... You can participate in events offered by Flickr ... And it is fantastic in the picture presentation !!!
I'd definitely add Openbook to the list. Looks promising for a multitude of reasons, among other things they are promising a migration tool for Google+.
Bill Brayman Hmmm... Also für ,,Streaming Schnittstelle" erhalte ich die Erklärung: Übertragung von Video und Audiodaten über ein Rechnernetz... Und für ,,Feeds Schnittstelle" erhalte ich die Erklärung: Datenschnittstelle für zum Beispiel Nachrichtendienste, Twitter, Google und so weiter...
Es gibt schon jetzt Videos von Videokünstlern auf Flickr und ab dem nächsten Jahr können alle Videos dort, in einer Länge von max. 10 Minuten präsentiert werden. Da das Thema Video bisher nicht zu meinem Interessengebiet gehört, kann ich dazu aber keine weiteren Auskünfte geben. Zum zweiten Bereich Nachrichtendienste und weiteres... In der sehr umfangreichen eigenen Konto Konfiguration, bietet sich die bequeme Möglichkeit, andere Websites in das eigene Flickr Konto einzubinden. Man kann also zum Beispiel Tumblr, Twitter und anderes leicht verknüpfen.
Um alle sehr umfangreichen Möglichkeiten der Kontokonfiguration zu nutzen, ist es notwendig, das Flickr Konto direkt über den eigenen Browser aufzurufen!!!
Nochmals mein dringlicher Hinweis an alle, die ein Flickr Konto versuchen möchten!!! Beliebige eigene E-Mail-Adresse verwenden... Flickr direkt über den eigenen Browser aufrufen... Flickr Konto mit der eigenen E-Mail-Adresse registrieren... Bei der dann nachfolgenden automatischen Routine der Weiterleitung zu einer Yahoo Registrierung einfach nur auf das blaue Feld weiter klicken!!!! Sofort ist man auf dem eigenen Flickr Profil... Dort auf das kleine Avatar neben der Benachrichtigungsglocke klicken und dann alle weiteren ,,inneren Profilseiten", über Menüband erkunden. Dort dann auch das Konto nach eigenen Wünschen konfigurieren und eventuell gewünschte andere Websites einbinden!!!
Entschuldig bitte, aber ich kann nur die deutsche Sprache. Ich hoffe, der Übersetzer ist wieder gut. Beste Grüße :-)
There is a whole category of social platforms that i don't understand well - Slack, Discourse, Matrix, Discord, and a new open source platform called Spectrum. These are a mix of chat and forum oriented sites. Cake and Reddit might relate to this. Any suggestions? For now i'm Thinking two classes - real time collaboration/gaming and interest forums.
