New Notification Icons?

New Notification Icons?
Is it me, or has Google+ gotten a set of new notification icons in the https://plus.google.com/notifications/all screen?

  1. Those icons are previews of images associated with the post, mostly.

  2. The blue 'message' icon isn't a preview, and it looks unfamiliar to me at least. The small +1 icon also looks different than I'm used to...

Then again, maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me.

  3. I don't often use that screen, but when Mr Jingles plays up, then I do. I also felt something looked different.

  4. On my PC, when I select the notification bell icon at the upper right corner of my browser, all the userpics have round red G+ logo superimposed on them, in the lower right area of the photo. I believe that's new. ETA And now that I opened "Notifications - All in my main browser window, I'm also seeing what you report.

  5. I'll take a wild guess that Google is tweaking the interface for the GSuite business customers they're planning to turn this whole platform over to when they shut down the public-facing version. Chances are many of these corporate users are not already familiar with the Plus, and may need some hints about what they're seeing when they login.

  6. These notification icons aren't new, (at least I've been seeing them for a while - months at least), the blue one means a comment on a post the red is a +1. I guess it delineates notifications that need a response (blue) as opposed to those that do not?
