I like the concept (community funded and search engine indexed), but have no idea on the technical foundations.

We should have places online where we can have meaningful interactions without worrying about our privacy and relationships being exploited for others' financial gain. Places that respect us and the communities we build, and help make them better instead of just trying to make them bigger.

  5. Tilde looks like one person's drive to merge Usenet & Reddit - not that there's anything wrong with that, and the nascent community looks thoughtful and kind, but I don't know if it would progress much differently from MetaFilter, LiveJournal, or Reddit itself...

    The discussions tend to be reasonably substantive.
