As I said before, I prefer YouMe over MeWe. The creator of the new social media platform, Jamez Frondeskias is trying to bring in more G+ like features, including communities.

Please note: The only way to sign into the mobile app is with email & password so save yourself some grief when creating a YouMe account. Skip the Google/Facebook option. Use email instead.

When you get to YouMe, look me up.

  1. I tried this for a few weeks, I liked many aspects of it. Unfortunately it has no user base. I'm only on MeWe because some established G+ Communities migrated to it.

It's going to be interesting to watch this pack of new platforms vie for users. MeWe, YouMe, Dispora, Vero, KlasterMe and the soon to be OpenBook.

  2. People need to be aware youme.social is an off the shelf social network product (mooSocial) running on a cheap web hosting platform.

Fair play to him spending his own money on hosting it, but all this talk of him developing the app or working on new features etc. is nonsense. He is not the creator, any new features will only come if and when mooSocial develop it. I know we're not to bad mouth other people's choice of network, but passing it off as a new creation is dishonest.

All that said, the platform itself does seem very slick, and one of the more impressive ones I've seen. I have some concerns as to how well it can scale though.

  3. Make the site look good in general and not look like a twelve year old web designer made it before working on a mobile app.

  4. That's a unique color scheme; it reminds me of the old Hyves social network.

  5. I joined, looks to have potential.

  6. It doesn't seem to work very well. Page stays blurry and won't reveal itself.

  7. Majority of these alternative apps are shit. It takes ages to download a photo, sometimes they just close aĺl od a sudden or the graphics are wonky.

  8. They are getting a big update next week, so maybe that will fix some of the problems.
