  1. Osada is an easy to use social network server of the blogging or "conversational" persuasion running over the ActivityPub protocol. There's a great deal of mature and proven functionality available as the underlying codebase has been developed since 2001 and part of the fediverse since 2010.

    Events
    Groups/Forums
    Privacy groups
    File management
    Photo Albums
    WebDAV access
    and more...

There are several plugins/addons providing LDAP authentication, personal wikis, content filtering, "friend/acquaintance zoom control", Twitter/StatusNet API and much more.

  2. Didier J. MARY The developers of Osada have recently announced to abandon this social network and focus their efforts on the zap social network and the zot protocol.

  3. Eric Buijs What's fun is that the ZAP page shows screenshots from Osada ;-) Same underlying stuff...

  4. Didier J. MARY That's right, it's the same code base. I believe that Mike Macgirvin recently got tired of the whole ActivityPub situation and decided to abandon it and Osada with it.

  5. Eric Buijs Well, as ActivityPub is now a W3C project, it's become "unmanageable" from an independant POV... ;-)
