  2. Bigattck Firecat I agree. Compare MeWe's report to that of Facebook, which lots of folks here have found wanting:
    reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org - εxodus

  4. al m I was looking at the number of permissions flagged "dangerous." Unbelievably, Facebook had fewer than MeWe! Don't ask me what all that might mean, but it appears to put MeWe in an unfavorable light compared to the social media everyone loves to hate, Facebook. I'll have to leave it at that and let our technical experts explain. How about it, anyone? Bigattck Firecat?

  5. Jeff Diver Camera might be taking photos, videos and uploading them to your profile.

Don't know why it needs to read your contacts, Mewe should have your infomation and does not need your phone infomation.

Reading SD card might be the uploading and downloading as well as checking if you have room in your SD card.

Recive SMS and Record audio might be the paid Encrypt message.

The app can be on top but no one cares most of the time.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE might be granting access from the other commands.

WRITE_SETTINGS: Now this is crazy because this basicly means it will change your settings, i dont know what it might be but Facebook does not use it. Can someone confirm what triggers it so that it will pull permission management screen (A message that says you need to check this box, then it will take you there) otherwise it is breaking Google's app rules.

The other two special is getting permission on China's phones not the small brands but big brands.

Permissions and trackers are different things Permissions are now checked by google so there is less risk in the play store but Trackers like Google Analytics is a useless feature that shouldent be in a app. Mewe even claims in their site that trackers are not used.
