I had this site recently advertise in The Google Plus Meetup on Facebook.

I had this site recently advertise in The Google Plus Meetup on Facebook.

I'm told they are out of the Beta Phase and are now accepting membership.

Although I'm encouraged by another alternative, I'm hesitant to supply credit card info during signup...especially for a site that claims the fist 6 months are free and will only charge after this expires.

Anyway, not sure if this site has been discussed here or not...or if any are actually members.

If you have more personal information to add about the site, please do for the benefit of the rest of us.

Also note...for those with a Facebook account, you can read a thread with the owner (Victoria Swanson) answering questions.

Google Plus Meetup ( I didn't know how to share a post from fb, so Victoria Swanson's post about Emenator is the latest post in the group).

  1. "Credit card info"
    I'm 11 and I don't have a credit card yet. So I won't try it."

  2. They lost me at "no harsh censorship." I spend enough time cleaning/reporting childporn and spam G+; no way am I joining a network that encourages that kind of garbage.

  3. Commander Gustavo Apparently Victoria claims they have this to disuade those under 18 from joining.

They advertise as an 18+ site.

  4. Pat Kight Due to it being a "pay" social site, I wonder if they've already planned with how to deal with trolls/spam/advertising.

At the very least, anyone trolling need pay and divvy up credit card info.

    The price quoted is $1.99 for students...and I think$3.49/month for adults...after 6 months.

I've asked her to let me see the site as I'm not about to join something with the caveat of paying later without knowing what I'm joining in the first place.

Everybody should be wary of any site that asks for money up front, and before testing the site itself

  5. Apparently there's a paypal option on the way.

  6. I wonder where development is being done? Language use in phrasing on the splash page and the "learn more" link is odd to this native speaker of American English. And misspelling of beatuiful, sharring and xtra on the splash page reinforces that feeling.

Also, I'm not signing up and providing CC info to a site I can't preview and test drive in some detail.

  7. Scott Gomez I got a short reply from someone (who I know to be well versed in various issues concerning social media), but who can't divulge much due to agreements.

He told me Emenator has been developing for awhile and they wanted to roll out something they are proud of.

This is about all I can share that's not readily available for everyone to see.

I'm not opposed to a pay site that claims amazing features, but, like you, I need to test it out before divvying up personal info..especially credit card info.

Then perhaps they should consider also employing a proof-reader :-/
