Cuan Knaggs for me, the main thing is notifications and navigation. Also, easily readable on mobile. I've seen many iOS users report the diaspora mobile website is near unreadable for them. I'm on android and the mobile site looks OK to me, if a bit clunky.
One reason for installing the Dandelion app is to use the intent system, i.e. to be able to share things to Diaspora. It works OK, but if you share from a browser using the Dandelion app, it always asks if you want to close it, and then dumps you back at the Home screen, instead of the browser. Only a small annoyance, though.
I am looking for easier content sharing (is that called "intent handling" in Android land?), OS based notifications (G+ Android is better at this than the web-page) and easier small screen navigation.

Dandelion. But you have to install the F Droid app store, first.

ReplyDeleteYour web browser is as good as Dandelion
ReplyDeleteThere is none, which is a primary reason why I haven't really adapted it
ReplyDeleteI just put a shortcut to the website on the Android desktop. Thus far I haven't found a "real" app that works any better than the mobile site.

ReplyDeleteCuan Knaggs browser-based web interfaces tend to be battery hogs.
