  1. Signed up for a beta couple months ago and never received any e-mail from them. As I know it only works on mobile.

  2. Ist es nur für Europäer???
Ist es nicht für den weltweiten Austausch???

  3. Maybe, but it is still in development so can't take it for a test drive.

  4. The next status update with a date for the alpha release comes around the 15th february. You can support them on Indiegogo to get access to the alpha or wait sometime for the beta release.

  5. Mobile only? That would be a non-starter for me

  7. France & Germany had a joint research project named Quaero with in the beginning had the goal to research novel search technologies, see
    en.wikipedia.org - Quaero - Wikipedia
This started in 2008, changed its direction once or twice and was ended end of 2013.

Also in 2013, another European search engine launched named Qwant which has been in development since 2011 and which officially does not want to compete with Google (and with Axel Springer Digital Ventures having a 20% stake since 2014).
We will see if this will get ready as a Leistungsschutzrecht friendly competitor.

  8. Openbook is developed in Europe but welcomes users from anywhere in the world.

It'll be a modest beginning, but it looks like they are doing most everything right. I've signed up and chipped in. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
