Micro.blog now with ActivityPub support!

Just thought I'd mention that micro.blog has (as of yesterday) added ActivityPub support for micro.blog hosted blogs (in addition to RSS, JSON feeds, and WebMentions as ways to follow and interact with micro.blog blogs from outside the micro.blog community). So you can use a micro.blog hosted blog to follow and be followed by people on Mastodon (and other ActivityPub enabled networks, though that hasn't been tested much yet).

They also added vanilla cross-posting for Mastodon options if you're using Micro.blog with a Wordpress or other site, or just want your blog posts cross posted over to an existing Mastodon account.

I haven't seen micro.blog mentioned really in any discussion and I understand why, it's a pretty niche community, but I since it's just gotten some new ways to connect outside of it's community I thought I'd mention it.

I also like the idea of people going back to more open blogging, and micro.blog is a great way to do that, and get some nice social features built in.

  1. Hey this looks interesting, just found it so i don't fully understand yet. Looks like another social community forming with it. Yep, definitely a new wave of cross posting and federation is going to open up social communities.
