  1. Unfortunately 3-4 hours isn't that uncommon during high load of their servers. You could try limiting a second request to just a single item, such as just your Google+ Stream and perhaps even just the Posts sub-item of it.

  2. Hours? Mine has sat like that for days... Takeout appears to be a cruel joke these days.

  3. Gregory P. Smith I've run takeout several times before, and it's always returned data, or at least shown progress, within an hour or so.

  4. I told it to save it to Google drive and I had no problem

  5. I've been unable to get a Takeout to complete for a couple of days now. Even just profile which must be the smallest, simplest. Previously it took a couple of minutes. Now it hasn't completed in 14 hours.

Maybe Google will sort this out, or the load will just drop back in a day or two. What scares me though is the load during the last week of March as people try and get one last download.

  6. mine was done in about 6 hours last Friday and the data looked good unlike the one I did in December which took about 4 or 5 days to collect a lot of 'useless' data

  8. Remember that it's also been the weekend. Perhaps it will get picked up first thing on Monday?

  9. I wonder if G+ API shutdown is mucking up takeout...

  10. Well, what did Google expect? They can't have millions of peeps doing this at once. And they finally made an announcement that no one could ignore.

  11. I thought this was a ghost town /sarc

  13. Took over 5h for mine to finish with error

  14. Farhad Abdolian Good to hear it finished.
An "Archive Incomplete" error does not necessarily mean though that the archive is completely useless, and can't be made complete with a little extra manual assistance: plus.google.com - A brief PSA regarding 'Archive incomplete' errors on Google Data Takeout Sinc...

I think I will move my old posts to WordPress on my own site abdolian.com seems to be the easiest way to keep the old stuff available.

  16. Farhad Abdolian Sounds like a good idea. :)

Remember to make a SignalFlare (with the appropriate hashtag) post that list of your contact details (such as profiles on other sites), and pin it to your profile for people to easily find. :)
Also don't forget to update your profile information here on Google Plus with links to the various sites people will be able to reach you on.

  17. I believe I see what problem was I created. As it was downloading, supposedly, I accidently ended the function.

Luckily I was thining out Drive as I was at my limit when I discovered all of my photos except for 2019 (0) have been auto saved to Drive.

Did I understand elsewhere that download our circles will not get us the members contact info? That's crazy. The purpose to know the members to select a group and deliberately stay in touch.

  18. Cass Morrison how do you use this +Friends +Me tool? Anyone can reply, thanks.

  19. Molly S. It's really easy to follow the instructions in Eric's link.

  20. eric peacock nice, thanks! I was confused because I googled their webpage and there was no mention of the tool, but your link is perfect

  21. Stuart O'Neill Takeout.Circles gives you VCF files containing, name, nickname and profile URL. And that's it. Even if the other person makes their email and phone numbers public, you don't get it. The profile URL is the numeric version, not the vanity URL. Profile URL may or may not go anywhere useful after G+ closes down. We simply don't now. The data in AboutMe ought to hang around and there ought to be a UI display on that same URL, but there might not be. The other file types like HTML and JSON provide the same limited set of data.

Right now it's all bit irrelevant since Takeout is overloaded and doesn't work at all.

  22. Julian Bond which is why we've pushing for people to Takeout early and Takeout often :)

  23. Got home from work last night, that takeout was still in the same place. I canceled it and initiated another one. The new one completed fairly quickly.
Seems like comments about takeout being overloaded during the weekend may have been correct.
