Dang. I really like to be able to join communities in common and network through this format. I can't stand Facebook or Twitter, or LinkedIn, they are not the same. With people going different places, it will sure take a lot of work to find everyone again. Not sure where I am going to move to. Anyone know how MeWe is?
The first rule should be to read what has ALREADY BEEN POSTED, before making oneself an object of mockery.
ReplyDeleteMeWe happens to be the most talked about here, because that is where most people moved (including me), and about which the morality is the most largely questioned (including by me).
I took a quick look at your profile and can see you've been searching for answers.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have varied interests.
As Christian Nalletamby suggested, you can find lots of info on the left hand side of this com, or by scrolling the posts.
To lend an opinion, check out YouMe.social. Lots of great features coming down the pipes...and is created by a Plusser for plussers.

Thank you, yes, I've read and researched. This spot has several suggestions yet without the whys or a majority consensus
ReplyDeleteI'm trying MeWe and look not bad. Very quiet, like G+ around 2015- I guess it will grow fast. Still looking for alternatives anyway
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, I have a blog and am using Instagram to promote it. No, it is not the same as G+. Neither are any of the sites you've mentioned: I've been using LinkedIn for years, but it doesn't generate the same sorts of discussions. (Also, since MS acquired it, you don't always get notifications from Groups.)
ReplyDeleteIf I do add a networking site, I'm leaning towards Diaspora/Pluspora. But, for now, I'll just do without.
Steve Vasta I will try Pluspora as well, and Mastodon is on the list, but it takes a lot of time to adjust. I'm surprised you're on Instagram. You have to give them TOTAL access of you phone to use it, and I preferred to stay away. I'm one of those annoying persons that read Terms & Conditions (well, most of the time) and I was absolutely APPALLED by theirs.
ReplyDeleteRaffaella Zanetello Oh, I'm not using IG on my phone! Neither did I want to. As I mentioned in several other discussions, a web search led me to a workaround, so I can post photos to IG using my grownup computer. (Much easier to type the captions!)
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems I've been having with certain apps, BTW, is that, if you refuse their requested permissions (such as what you describe), they simply won't download or install. Bummer. (But outside the scope of this particular discussion.)
Steve Vasta That's interesting. I was trying to find a way to use IG from my computer a couple of year ago. Will research again
