Im really stuck, first many business brand pages, what do i do with them, where can i migrate them? brand photo collections, how do i get them downloaded , does the google downloader get brand accounts ? what about brand accounts connected to google maps - wow this could be huge.. and thats my main concern, there is not a blog on google to provide help with these questions
Google Data Takeout can also export Brand Accounts.
ReplyDelete1. Visit https://takeout.google.com/
2. Click on your profile image in the top right corner to open up a drop-down menu
3. Select the Brand Account from that list to switch to act as that account.
4. Proceed with Google Data Takeout as normal.
Note that you will likely have to authenticate again for your Brand Account with your main account's password when trying to download the file.

ReplyDeleteAlso, while your Google+ Pages will get deleted (unless they belong to a G Suite account rather than a personal Google account afaik), the associated Google Brand Accounts should remain in tact, so other connected Google properties such as Google Maps and YouTube channels should remain unaffected.
As for where to migrate your Google+ Pages / Brand Accounts, perhaps Peggy K has some suggestions (or other comments to add to my above ones)?
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify rust Filip H.F. Slagter wrote, all Google+. Pages will be deleted, when those owned by G Suite accounts. The Brand Account will not be deleted.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he has covered most of the information. Note that any photos you uploaded to Google+ before the split with Google Photos in 2015 should be in Google Photos. You can switch to your Brand Account in Google Photos the same way you do here on Google+. The copies of photos in Google Photos will not be deleted.
Add for what you can do, you can re-upload photos to another photo sharing sure like Flickr.
You can use a third party tool like the Friend+Me Google+ Exporter that lets you create an export compatible with WordPress or Blogger and create a blog of your posts.
Or you can start over elsewhere.
thanks, i tried takeout, but some of my stuff is over 2gb and multiple splits of the total, and trouble downloading them on 30mb wifi network, runs out of time and then stops downloading and wants to re authenticate, hopefully don't lose brand accounts, but taking no chances, just really sucks if they kill brand accounts, pages, and some brand accounts i have are not linked to google maps, there are service oriented pages, leaves so many people stranded, because we don't want facebook i am working on new social network but this is a year out still if we go, have millions following the old project, but we will make it, myspace went out, we survived, even if google goes away.. we will survive.. but now i think many will think twice about investing so much in one of Googles spin's because it is not worth it.
ReplyDeleterob iam you won't list any business listing in Google Maps or Search. That is separate from Google+.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for Brand Accounts you can have the Takeout archive delivered to cloud storage: Box, OneDrive or Dropbox. You would have to pay to be able to import that amount of data, but it may be worth it if you don't always have a strong internet connection.
rob iam how recently have you tried Takeout? Because since January 30th the archives have reduced quite a bit in size.
