Wow, Liz Fong-Jones has quit Google too now?
ReplyDeleteAlong with Yonatan Zunger, I remember her as the driving force and support for repealing the real name policy at Google+. Liz, if you're reading this, thanks for being a voice for the users within Google and Google+ in particular.
Filip H.F. Slagter yep, she tells it in the Medium post.
ReplyDeleteMy last day was Jan 29.
ReplyDeletewow.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a bombshell about why Yonatan Zunger left. At least it is to me.
ReplyDeleteRead the full Intercept article, it's super damning.
ReplyDeleteThis has been truly eye-opening and Liz Fong-Jones applaud you for your courage, determination and passion for 'the user' and standing up to the company as a voice for your coworkers and for all of us! I'm so glad to hear that you are at a place of fairness and inclusiveness. I am saddened for what you had to endure but I believe this is a blessing for you; a way to kick off the new year and I wish you the best of luck and blessings that you deserve. You're an inspiration and I pray others will emulate you . Regards, Mia Dees (just an average Gplus user). Peace
ReplyDeleteLiz Fong-Jones I'm sorry to hear that... :-/
ReplyDeleteLiz Fong-Jones: As someone who's probably been a royal pain in the ass far too many times, thank you so much for what you did, almost all of it unseen to those of us on the outside.
ReplyDeleteExcellent and revealing article, a valuable service. I have hopes for meaningful labour organisation in the tech sector.
What's your new gig, if that's public?
Developer advocate at honeycomb.io!
ReplyDeleteWow, I hope Google doesn't delete this ... this is a teachable moment for them, if it's not too late.
