Once again, as Google grows closer to the edge, I would like to reach out and promote Atmos as a viable option. As with last time, feel free to put any and all questions and concerns in the comments below. I'm here to listen to all of them.

From what I've seen, aside from YouMe which I've already voiced my concerns with prior, there are no other platforms that attempt to truly go for a G+ remake.

Atmos is a Social Media site by Google Plus Users for Google Plus Users. We've made significant progress on the site since even just earlier this month, we've gotten a new, non temporary logo, and made significant progress in the design of our site. Taking queues from Google Plus while also doing a lot of our own ideas.

The majority of this month has been spent creating massive design overhauls in order to give the site a more professional look. The latest design test being shown below. .

  1. Does it use some other platform as a base? Or is it developed from scratch?

  2. La pregunta es, como me puedo unir a Atmos si g+ cierra antes de que funcione?
    Muchas gracias

  3. Michael Warburton They built it from scratch. I've been in their Discord server for quite a while and watched them do it. Though of course I didnt do anything because I'm useless when it comes to coding and web designing,I can verify that they did it bit by bit and put a hell lot of effort, work, dedication and passion into it,and I'm positive the results will be more than great.

We are fully coded from scratch using nothing but PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and a whole lotta teamwork.

Atmos intends to attempt to launch before G+ closes in an Early Alpha state if possible.

Just in case however, feel free to follow our official Twitter. Where we will attempt to post updates at least once a week. twitter.com/AtmosLaika

  5. Adela Barros 3 I'm sure you can just go to their website by searching it on Google Search. They didn't really get much time at all,but they did so much to try and open it before the shutdown,and then Google went ahead and pushed the doomsday months earlier ;-;

Right now our site isn't live. We plan on launching around late March to early April

We plan on funding the site through donations currently. We've done a ton of optimizations to our costs in order to allow for this.

Of course it's really only the server we pay for as we are just a bunch of dedicated volunteers who want to create a future for G+ users, not a future for us.

  12. Alex Unfortunately that's not a "viable option" - please try promoting it when we can actually use it and see how we like it. Thanks. [ETA: And you'd better hurry! I don't think you'll be able to announce it on G+ for much longer...]

Yeah, I probably have worded it better.

Either way, feel free to follow and watch our twitter as we will post information regarding the site, our funding, and our launch.

  14. Alex You said you have voiced your concern about Youme, where is it? Link?

I have seen another post with another person saying that hera the creator. How can I verify that this is real?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dear Wolf there are multiple people working on it, if I remember correctly

  17. Dear Wolf
I'm not the owner of it. I'm just the Frontend Lead. I'm doing the major PR work while stuff on the backend is being finished so I can implement my new designs.

  18. Alex What are your concerns about Youme.social? Link, please?

  19. Hello Alex, Thanks so much for the information, I have a few questions:
    1. What is the maximum storage space you will give for free?
    2. Will we have circles of friends like we had in Google +? A circle of close friends, which we will be notified of each new post they share, and another circle of followers whose posts will appear on our homepage?
    3. Is it possible to use a stationary computer? This is very important to me.
    4. I'm on MEWE, and there are two things that really bother me. The first is that there are a lot of bugs, every day there's a new bug, we can not give emojis to posts, the comments appear to us out of order, People can not log in to their profile, orare throw out in the middle of comments, and it seems that the managers are more busy in competition with Facebook instead of fixing all the problems that users suffer. The second thing that bothers me is that the responses I've already answered remain on my screen and are not deleted, and I have to scroll down again so that I can get to the old responses. I hope that this will be different in your place, and comments that have already been processed will be deleted from the screen.
    5. If your place is also suitable for use on a stationary computer, I'd love to try it.

  20. Dina I think they'll limit the data to 75 gb per month or so,though I couldn't understand if that was per user. As far as I understood, they aren't going to charge to unlock storage, they'll request for donations to run the site, but it won't be mandatory to pay,it'll be a free platform for users.

  21. There are two storage options at the current moment. Free, which is up to 75GB per month, which is way more than necessary for most people, as by our calculations most users only use up to 4GB per year, and there's also the donation amount where $5 per month will allow up to 150GB. However, the donation is not required and really doesn't reward much aside from the storage and a badge beside your name on your profile.

Circles will be a thing, however, we have not tested extended circles yet. This will have to be something I discuss with the Devteam. Thanks for the suggestion however.

Yes, we are not a mobile locked app, in fact the Desktop screen is the first part of the site we've worked on and are putting all our focus into.

We are heavily focusing on any bugfixes and optimizations possible. Posts and comments are autosorted by date so hopefully a bug like that should not arise, but if it does we will be sure to fix it as soon as possible.

As for our site, we have not launched to the public yet, and don't have plans to do so till around the closure of Google Plus. As mentioned earlier, to keep in contact with us you can follow our twitter, as this is where we will post announcements about our website at least once to twice a week.

  22. Alex one of the functions of g + is to be able to have two accounts differentiated and another is the private and public communities this would continue to be maintained?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Public and Private communities will be a thing.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by two accounts differentiated however.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Alex g + offers to be able to access two accounts at the same time that's what I mean. you will have a chat or you will have it separately

    ReplyDelete
  25. Alex since you were ignoring my question I'll ask again, what were your concerns about Youme? I didn't see it being posted here or in your profile. If you're ignoring this again I'll just assume you're a ......

  26. Dear Wolf
Oh that, that's an idea we've tossed around a fair bit, but haven't made any official progress on.

    Halfey Halphstein
I can't really discuss it here in full, as badmouthing your competition isn't professional. However, the most I can say, is that it was an extremely rushed product that uses templates and didn't have a massive amount of effort put in by the owner.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Alex
I think the accounts would be productive. I will be following you

    ReplyDelete
  28. Alex Then why mention this "aside from YouMe which I've already voiced my concerns with prior" in the first place? By saying that it already shows that you're badmouthing them, which is unprofessional (your words, not mine).
