Edit: This post wasn’t & isn’t for the purpose of aggression nor incitement. I’m trying to figure out how I can get back into the below-mentioned community based on why I was banned.
Apparently I’m banned from the “G Suite for Education” community, with my post(s?) removed. No idea why. Could be a shadowban, which makes sense considering how buggy Google+ is now, without the APIs or whatever Google was using to micromanage Google+.

May I ask, if you had to describe the nature of the Posts you Shared there, how would you describe them? Questions? Tips and Tricks? I suppose what I'm getting at is, were they under the rubric of being specifically about the GSuite for Education product?

ReplyDeleteYeah, that does seem like it was a fair question. Did you figure it out, Chik Nuggets「тм」?
ReplyDeleteEli Fennell No, unfortunately not yet.
ReplyDeleteChik Nuggets「тм」 I mean, whether you're on a GSuite account.
ReplyDeleteChik Nuggets「тм」 I'd say it was removed as off-topic, and if you're banned, they may have looked at your profile and decided it was not the target audience for the community. What makes you sure you are banned though?
ReplyDeleteAs for using gsuite, if you weren't you wouldn't be here. To find out more try:

a link found in the FAQ's about the sunset of G+ How do I know if I have a G Suite or consumer (personal) Google+ account?: https://support.google.com/plus/answer/9217723
(editing as I got the mention wrong)
Rupert I don’t see what topic I introduced, specifically in the community itself, that didn’t in any way relate to the community.
ReplyDeleteAnd I (hopefully) wasn’t banned for something outside of the community. If that’s the case, then that community needs new moderators.
Why I think I’m banned is because I can’t post, I’m not in anymore, and I can’t rejoin.
If I had to guess, I’d say it’s just a shadowban. I’ll try talking to the Owners and Moderators.
ReplyDeleteEli Fennell I’m pretty sure it’s a yes, I am on some kind of GSuite domain thing. “...[something].net”
ReplyDeleteChik Nuggets「тм」 OK. They may not have thought you were being serious in asking the question.
ReplyDeleteChik Nuggets「тм」 It is likely you were banned from the community, as those symptoms are indicative of a ban. "shadowbans' are a myth!
ReplyDeleteAs for why you were banned, only the person banning you could give you the exact reason. Perhaps they may be prepared to comment or respond, perhaps not.
IMHO the question was heavily off-topic for a community "about Google's Cloud services for Schools" and is very much a general question, answered via the FAQ's. (did you check the link I mentioned? It's not clear if you did, and now have an answer). The ban may have been an overly strong reaction, rather than politely removing you and explaining why you are not the target membership that community is seeking. It's primarily for the educators of education domains, something you clearly are not.
Also, if you feel you can make a valid contribution to such a community, and how being a member would benefit you and them, I suggest you outline those reasons in reply here. Who knows the mod in question may visit here and be persuaded by your reasoning.
Community moderators don't have to please just anyone who wants to join a community, they have to be selective, and often take pre-emptive action to keep the community focused. This does not mean they need replacing.
I’m just not going to ask, actually. If they don’t even want me there, then there’s no point in trying, and no reason I should care anyway. So, after this reply is seen, I’ll delete this post.
