With Google's exit from social, they've dodged bullets that are currently being loaded by legislators around the world. Though, I suspect Youtube moderation and various restrictions will be increased, in order to comply with proposed/forthcoming legislation, as Youtube does bring in a lot of cold hard cash!

How the likes of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and all the others will face the realities of complying with rules that are currently being drawn up, will be interesting to watch.

Will they just choose to not serve content to countries with restrictions? Rather like many US sites have done as a result of GDPR legislation.

There's also gathering momentum to try and break up the monopolies held be many of the top tech/online/internet companies. Perhaps not so much in the US, but certainly in Europe there are some pretty bumpy times ahead for the big online players.
