Not every company will have GSuite. If a company collaborates extensively with other companies, it seems like this would disqualify this tool. At least with Drive/Docs/Groups you can add people to have access to a folder by email address. Yes, it has to be a Google account, but does not have to be in a GSuite org.

+Cade Roux You're assuming they'll never expand its capabilities. I'd be surprised if they didn't. As you say, they do it with other products, but those other products didn't do it at first, either.

Currents is new. So new it doesn't even exist yet. The absence of a thing on Day 1 doesn't mean it will never be part of it.

Google Docs, Sheets and Groups started before GSuite existed. They were accessed and shared with any Google account. They acquired Docs and Sheets from outside companies, in fact.
