Wow! For personal nonsense, you can make a public community, the posts of which are not visible in streams of others unless they are member. :) A caveat -- new public communities are disabled by now, and the only option is to re-use one of your old empty ones. A way to do that then, is simply:
Preferences -> Manage amount of posts in home stream -> None.
The members will see in the stream, but others will be able to see by directly visiting the community url.

So, no new Public Communities now?
ReplyDeleteI just now created a new one, so they are not in fact disabled yet.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just created one, too.
ReplyDeleteI created two public communities this morning... was weird though because I did create one before that and saw no public option. When I tried again, there was...
ReplyDeleteSo, better make 'em quick, before they pull the plug.
ReplyDeleteTest: can you see my 3 public posts in Public stream with 3 promoted communities?
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to enter those comm. just let me know, if you can see them at all. Thanks.
Good idea to stock up on a few placeholders before it's too late.
ReplyDeleteI can see on your profile your welcome message in Israel, Hippie is Not Dead, and Deep Thinkers.
ReplyDeleteWhether or not Community posts show up on a profile is a setting in your own account... somewhere. It's been a while since I tinkered around in those knobs.
ReplyDeleteMichael J. Coffey : thanks! 👍🙂
ReplyDeleteOdd. It just let me create a new public community yesterday.
