I'm a gamer/roleplayer, but I didn't choose Discord. Instead, I found an account of someone who is a LOTRO player who is also an engineer on Dreamwidth, and signed up for that service, instead. In addition, I found a generalized MMORPG community there as well (I happen to be a solo MMORPG player of LOTRO and a number of other relatively mature fantasy role-playing-focused MMORPGs as well).

Discord is great, but it isn't the same kind of platform, imho. Each chat is an island - there is no cross-chat discovery potential as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Discord has no support for long-form posts, or even medium-term discussions. It's neo-IRC/chatroom app.
ReplyDeleteHey, I didn't say it was a replacement for Google Plus. All I said was this is where the gamers and roleplayers all went.

Have you ever heard of an exaggeration? It's a HUGE part of the English language. Learn about it, bro.
