Foodies+ Community on Facebook

I'm sure you've all heard that G+ is closing down. Everything is going to be wound down until the complete shut down on the 31st August 2019.

As we have built quite the community here, we don't want to lose all the hard work that we've all put in.

So I've created a Foodies+ group over at Facebook, in the hope of transitioning all that we do here. I think Facebook groups are a great alternative to G+ communities, because:
1. As long as you have Notifications on, you won't miss a post.
2. There are categories in a group, so most, if not all the categories will be carried over.
3. Conversations will still take place on all our posts, as they do here.

The group is brand new, and we shall continue life over there, just as we do here. We would love to see you in the Foodies+ Facebook community.

Posting rules on Facebook:

1. No full recipe posts needed, but we still insist on a title and a 2-3 paragraph description for each post.

2. We would still like members to engage on each others' posts, every time you post in the group.

If you are interested in helping me run the group as a moderator, just let me know.

  1. Too bad. I hate FB more than I love food.

  2. The main "Street Art" also, but #2, "Street Art Unlimited", a dynamic spinoff after pornbot attacks on the original, has moved to MeWe, doing fine already.

    Same here. Never Facebook.

  4. I expect this to be a common thing. But also I think migrating people and content is going to be hard since G+ Takeout Communities is useless and the FB API is impenetrable. So migration is all about marketing the move and kickstarting the new community on FB.

  5. Julian Bond FB coming up with a data importer would be a very interesting development.

FB coming up with a data exporter, even more so.

  6. Edward Morbius Likelihood of this: Exactly 3,720 to 1.

  7. In this particular case, would it not be the bistromatic drive that is used?
