I've been checking out the federated social networks. Here are some links i've found that provide brief observations about Diaspora, Friendica, and Hubzilla with a couple comments about Mastodon. Any observations you'd like to add?

Thanks for doing these reviews. At the moment, I'm feeling grumpy about almost all the alternatives, because G+ has been so damned functional for the things I want out of a social network. It's helpful to hear what others are learning.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting to hear of a service that displays photos a fraction as well as G+ has, and makes it easy to organize and conduct group photo projects, since that's been easily 90% of my activity here, and the way I've met most of the people I want to keep in touch with when the lights go out.
