That would be perfect for newshounds, IF, it existed. Publishers are walled gardens, unfortunately.

ReplyDeleteAt present there is no known software in the world that can do a direct import from G+..NONE - NADA _ZILTCH, ZERO... nor is there likely to be in the immediate future. (Immediate=3 months)

Amazon's offerings look to be for self-publishers. It's not for the major print and TV stations (who operate their own sites, and thus, walled gardens).
ReplyDeleteG+ was nice that folks could engage with all the major newspapers and TV networks in one location. A newshound's joy -- and without pesky ads and commercials!

ReplyDeleteThe Austrian daily "Der Standard" (standard.at) runs a website that is quite designed to incite user interaction. Every single article has a forum for users to discuss, upvote, downvote comments, threads with actual threading (think usenet). This in itself has created a community and the newspaper has given them a forum to use outside of commenting to articles. You can follow persons, form circles, initiate 1to1 communication and it's all out in the open.
It helps that Der Standard" is considered a fairly lefty partisan by European standards, which I consider a good thing.

ReplyDeleteAnton A I am afraid I can't, no. But: there are gazillions of knowledgeable IT guys out there that will help you once you have a message that has "open" in it and means it.
