Example: Friendica iSurf node users can see and connect with Diaspora pluspora pod users on the "social web" aka Federation. (Attempting to explain that) This happens via protocols used by federated networks which makes it decentralized and controlled by the users not a central or single authority. It seems complicated but it really isn't once you use it. There are others like hubzilla too.
Hey I'm there too, and (for now) have it set to automatically add those who follow me. It just does not appear as if the internal server is able to handle the traffic. pluspora.com - filsmyth@pluspora.com
You can't edit or delete comments/posts, and I'm wary about how they handle photos because I'm a photographer. I'm over there, but I'm not sure I'll remain.
You could look at using a Friendica node since you can edit delete etc but still reach the rest of the social web, i.e. diaspora, mastadon, hubzilla, gnusocial, etc.
Adam Killian Ah. I hadn’t read the screenshot before. I had just checked last night, so the update must have come out very recently. Checking for an update...

Pluspora's a Diaspora pod. You join it to get into Diaspora. I'm over there and so is at least one G+ friend.

ReplyDeleteAccording to its Terms of Service, Pluspora started up in 2014 or earlier.
ReplyDeleteRyan Cavitt That’s diaspora as a whole. The pluspora pod started more recently (but still long before the recent google announcemtn).

ReplyDeleteI am trying one out at https://social.isurf.ca or you can find other active nodes to try at https://friendi.ca/
Adam Killian Twispora doesn’t support the pluspora pod, and the developer has not responded to requests to add it.

ReplyDeleteAdam Killian Yup. Update came out 20 hours ago on the App Store. Downloading....
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes pluspora is there, but apparently twispora is just a wrapper around the diaspora mobile web interface with its tiny unreadable typeface.
