Initial observations so far...
1) No public posts
2) No "circles". You share with all your contacts, can't pick or choose
3) No "Collections" but uses # hashtags
4) You can't see posts by others unless you're connected

Also road testing Tumblr.. will share my thoughts soon..

    1) Public posts are in the pipeline
    2) You post to groups - not circles. Amounts to the same thing
    3) Any group can be setup as a collection where only one person can post

    Not sure what qualifies as "easier" but for me lack of "by me" filter is a deal-breaker. Quite often I needed "that one link I've posted a month ago". Plus delivered here, I mean, after they've finally brought that functionality back after UI changes.

    I'll note that by comparison, Diaspora has very little effective search. Users and hashtags, no full-text of content, no comment search.

    And for any non-public material (messages, non-public posts), there's no third-party Web search either.

    6) Want's access to my address books to “invite” just like on facebook.

    7) Can't unilaterally follow, you need to friend people just like on facebook.

    8) Share what you do right now side bar just like on facebook.

    9) Live, address, work, interests, etc side bar like on facebook.

    I use Google+ because I don't like the Facebook approach. So I already don't like MeWe before I made my first posting. Then I made my first posting and noted all the bugs in the editor.

    Deleted my first posting, carefully redone it. Still buggy. Sorry to say but MeWe isn't at all ready for mainstream and not even close to the maturity and usability from either Minds or Steemit.

    I've tried MeWe today and it felt immediately 'right'. Something clicked. The user interface is pretty similar to that of G+.. I started a community (group) straight away and the members of my G+ community are following.
    I like it very much.
    Good mobile app.

    John Victor You can group your contacts by creating groups and adding contacts. It's exactly as adding them to circles.

    But I don't let arbitrary websites scan my address book I am pretty much on my own.

    MeWe is not the place where you find new people. Finding new friends was one of the things Google+ did right.
