  1. I haven't heard a single person mention Zeronet, IPFS, DAT, etc.

Diaspora (sp?) is based on Wave afaik. Pluspora started recently by a couple of plussers. However, it's federated, not decentralized.

    Any questions, i'm here to code/research/help! :)

  2. Yes certainly. What i've heard so far is that they are prepping it for apps. They are also working on a nodejs server, so self-hosting is an option. I'll do some more research..

  3. Andrew Kidoo I've made mention of IPFS, DAT, Beaker browser, and a bunch of Fediverse stuff. Not familiar with Zeronet.

Search, from the Community homepage, should find some of that:

    Solid's also frequently mentioned.

If you know of other platforms, please mention them in the Alternate Sites & Platforms category.

  4. My homebuilt desktop should be able to support new browser iterations indefinitely, but might need a new motherboard... Anyway I haven't got it up and running yet. Meanwhile this iPad Mini is too old for OSX and, apparently, can't update Safari and Chrome. When new stuff doesn't allow older browsers access, it feels like a kind of exclusionism.

I really can't tell whether there is simply no functionality yet on my Solid pod, or if inrupt just hasn't bothered to support older browsers.

  5. fil smyth To start, click on public folder, then click the green "+" (ironic ;) and add "long chat" app. (there are many apps to choose from) Let me know, and I'll try to join your chat room.

  6. Deleting an app is like witchcraft.

    - Open your solid community profile,
    - Navigate to and open File/Folder you want to Delete
    - Now, move your cursor over the name of the file or Folder. You will see some icons showing up.
    - Click on the 'Settings' icon image
    - Now hover your mouse cursor to the left of the 'Refresh icon'. A red colored 'Remove' icon will become visible. <-- yes, it's hidden!

  7. Queso, I'm leaving this community and, sorta thinking it might not be a bad thing for me personally when g+ is no more. Presumably Hangouts will survive, and there's always Gmail (which I've been using for over 15 years) --- I'm filsmyth, without the space. I'll be in the band, playing as the ship sinks, partying like it's 2019. Will probably do something with inrupt and holochain. Meanwhile I need to get my homebuilt desktop working so I can build a website for Tellurian Motors...
