Since some of us might move to MeWe, I thought this would be helpful.

  1. I don't see most of us moving to MeWe LOL It all depends on the view.

  3. There's about 5100 plussers that moved over to diaspora. From what I've heard about mewe, it doesn't really interest me personally - it looks like a glorified IRC/chat network with a mobile app.

  4. Kienan Vella but MeWe is undergoing a lot of changes to accommodate immigrant G+ users.

  5. There is no concensus on moving to MeWe, or any other site, at this point.

There is a large Plusser contingent on Diaspora, as mentioned, and I'm favourably inclined for a number of reasons.

That said, I'm still actively exploring options, as are others, and a foundational aim of this Community is to make such decisions on an informed basis. Not because someone asserts with no foundation that a decision has been made.

Siddharth Pranjale: Please don't do that.

  10. I've spent the past couple of days on Pluspora, which I really like, despite some shortcomings (esp. privacy features). I tend to post everything publicly so for me it's not a matter of confidentiality, rather I want to be able to block others I find annoying for whatever reason.

The strictly non-public restricted access on MeWe doesn't appeal to me, although I understand that public posting is under consideration if not active development as a feature. Notwithstanding, I welcome Siddharth Pranjale's group on WeMe as a place to play around with features of the site in order to have a more informed opinion on it.

  11. Murray J Brown You can actually "ignore" accounts on Pluspora. Go to the account's profile and there will be an icon on the right side, a circle with a diagonal stripe (similar to a "no parking" sign). Click it to ignore the account. Based on the Diaspora FAQ, this will do the following:
This means that posts from that account will no longer appear in your stream, and they will no longer be able to comment on, or like your posts. However, they will still be able to reshare your posts, comment on reshares of your posts, and their comments on posts by other people which appear in your stream will still be visible to you.
It's less than a complete block, but still helpful I think.
