Google+ has disabled comments on their posts, and I don't blame them... They were probably annoyed with people leaving negative comments for them. If people really want Google to keep Google+ going, being respectful will work better to convince them than being rude. Pass it on!
A lot of comments were pretty respectful, albeit the discouragement they expressed. I don't recall seeing TOO many comments that were vulgar. And honestly, can you blame them?
ReplyDeleteIvan Jang I've seen disrespectful comments on many of Google+'s posts. People were leaving them on posts that didn't even have to do with the shutdown. I understand that people are upset: I am, too, but being rude to Google will just make them want to shut this place down even more.
ReplyDeleteMusical One Well, they disabled the comments on the first post they made about the ""sunset"", so I assume that might be why.
ReplyDeleteYou have a point on that one, but honestly, Google did set this one up for themselves. Let's just hope they actually listen to the people that bothered to write civilized responses.
You sure it's disabled? There's actually a limit 500 comments to a thread. That post has reached that point.
ReplyDeleteHalfey Halphstein Good point.
ReplyDeleteThe post hit the 500 comment limit, so it was automatically closed.
ReplyDeleteHalfey Halphstein They disabled it.
ReplyDeleteOne other "official" post of last year, last I checked, was overwhelmed with spam and porn, nobody was cleaning up...
Christian Nalletamby yeah you're right but I guess this was done because the comments have reached its limit anyway.

ReplyDeleteI noticed spam, too.
You can not more end 500 Comments
ReplyDeleteDisabled comments — when you know you are wrong but you want to post anyway.
ReplyDeleteMartin Krischik Yes, Google is wrong (in many of our opinions) to shut down G+. There are hundreds of thousands of people still active here. The possible (unproven) data breach is just an excuse for them to wash their hands clean of this place. I think there are too many glitches and inappropriate usage (porn, spam, scams, etc.) for them to keep up with, especially considering it's free to us. This is not a money- maker for them. In fact, employing engineers for G+ is probably making Google lose money. I get it... I see their point of view. It just really sucks for those of us who love it here. 😟
