I assume Enterprise use means accessed via a paid G Suite account. Since enterprises need to communicate not only internally, but with other enterprises, I assume that I’ll still be here on my G Suite account. How many of the rest of you will be here?
Bodhipaksa Currently they can. This account I am currently using is a G Suite account (legacy free version). I also have several Non-profit domains which also work. I just setup a friend with a G Suite Basic and that also works. I believe that as domain administrator I may have had to enable that. Whether those accounts will continue to do so in the future is another question.
Bodhipaksa I don’t know if it is possible to upgrade a regular google account with gmail to g Suite. If not, I wonder if it is possible to add an alternative email account on your own domain, then delete gmail, then upgrade to g Suite.
Bodhipaksa Yup. Email is easy as it is just a message store. G+ is hard, as it includes posts, other people’s comments on your posts, your comments on other people’s posts, communities, collections, and circles (relationships with other accounts).
All that is why I dropped my original G+ account I used in the original beta and switched to my permanent G Suite account (called something else then) as soon as it was supported by G+.

ReplyDeleteThe G Suite comparison page doesn't mention which versions include G+. gsuite.google.com - G Suite Pricing Plans Anyone know?
ReplyDeleteBodhipaksa Currently, all of them do. I don’t think any decisions have been made about the future.
ReplyDeleteBrian Holt Hawthorne And do you know if G Suite accounts can publish on Google+ publicly, use circles and so on?

ReplyDeleteBodhipaksa Unfortunately, while you can migrate your email, I don’t believe you can migrate your G+ content.
ReplyDeleteBrian Holt Hawthorne That’s a bummer.
