I would like to migrate to a platform that has a button "Import data from G+" BUT because we not have open protocols for data migration our data always going to be a "product" of somebody else ...
at the present moment, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) only have a few researchers working on protocols for Social Network data migration[1].

I think the platform that would accommodate G+ data would have to be able to replicate most if not all G+ features, for example the circles. That platform must be able to differentiate public posts, private posts and "friends of friends" posts. Having only 2 level of privacy will break it.
ReplyDeleteThat is what I am thinking (in layman's terms) .. one type of data is your posts, photos, etc ..that is your own data because it was created by a single entity (you, your account) ... another type of data generated by your interactions to others accounts (your connections) sounds a lot about the debate what is private, what is public
ReplyDeleteHubzilla, Diaspora and Friendica are the three systems most similar to G+ which are working towards standardizing on support for W3C open protocols.
