Is anyone else finding that their Diaspora sign in isn't working?
I attempted to sign in and was told that the coordinates that I entered did not match their records.
I set up my account a few nights ago, recorded my sign in info and it's not being recognised. I used both my username as well as my email address and of course my password but couldn't get in.
Thankfully, I am on other networks.

With WWW or without? I had repeated problems when I used “pluspora.com”, but not so after I changed to “www.pluspora.com”.
ReplyDelete"Coordinates"?
ReplyDeleteI tried pluspora.com - pluspora. I was "still logged in", so I logged out and logged in again, no problem.
I assume you checked things like capslock, and password. And you tried the password recovery?
Hmmm. Perhaps it is on AWS, and getting redirected to the wrong AWS region, which is causing some issue? (This is something a typical user would be hard pressed to discover, nevermind fix.)
I used TunnelBear to connect from India, no problem. Nor from England.
I see from pluspora.com - #pluspora We're now back online and running diaspora 0.7.7.0! that there was just an update completed a few minutes ago. I had trouble logging in about then, though I had other problems too, so may not be related.
ReplyDeleteThomas Rohde I'm still unclear about the difference between Diaspora and Pluspora. Can you clarify them for me, please? 🙂
ReplyDelete#pluspora is a #diaspora #hub … diaspora is a #distributed_social_network

Shaun Griffith Yes, I was careful to use the right case of letters for name, email address and password.
ReplyDeleteI didn't try password recovery because I hadn't forgotten it.
AWS? Please clarify 🙂
Thomas Rohde Thank you for the clarification.
ReplyDeleteVery appreciated. 🙂
I had exactly this problem with Mewe but not diaspora. I thought it was provisional with Mewe. I tried again, it is still not working either with SMS or email.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Barrett AWS is the Amazon cloud. It is now very easy to set up low spec virtual machines, at a good price. It also allows for good performance across the world if you want. I believe some D* pods are AWS hosted, not sure about Pluspora.
ReplyDeleteShaun Griffith Thank you so much, Shaun... That's very helpful. 🙂
ReplyDeleteOlivier Malinur I wish I could offer you a solution to your MeWe issue... Maybe enter using your email address, rather than username.
ReplyDeleteSorry I can't be more helpful.
After looking at the way of working of MeWe, I am happy with their bug. It encapsulates all I disliked with the "new" Google Plus i.e. community-base / topic centric network instead of a people centric network.
ReplyDeleteSo big no for me.
Does anyone know how to edit a post in Pluspora? I don't think that feature is available there. It'd be nice if the developer add that feauture.
